Happy Mother's Day..

Before you are a mom you don't realize how much love you are actually capable of giving! Thank you Lord for allowing me to be Tyler's mommy! What a huge blessing it is!!
This was my first official Mother's Day and what a great one it was!!
This weekend we went down to Ohio this weekend. We hadn't seen any of them since December (except for grandma and grandpa), David's grandma turned 75, and it was Mother's Day, so we decided that it would be a good time to go. We didn't tell David's mom we were coming so she was super surprised! We got there around 10:30 Friday night. Tyler did good on the way down. It took us about 8 hours and at hour 7 he had had enough. Wasn't happy and he was letting us know, so we stopped at a CVS and let him get out and stretch, David ran in and got him a glow worm thing to play with the last hour and it worked. He finally went to sleep and we were able to get there in peace.
After about an hour of play we got ready for bed and all went to sleep. Saturday morning David's mom and step-dad both had to work, so they were up and out. Ty and I just played around while Daddy and Sarah slept. Later that afternoon we all went down to David's grandmas and let her play with him for a while. They had a great time! Then back to the house for pizza and relaxing. Brad and Bekah came up and Zach and Carmen and Kevin. We had a great time just all hanging out and catching up. Tyler LOVED all the attention he got and loved showing off his crawling and "walking" skills. Everyone just ate him up. Sunday up for church, I had a wonderful surprise of flowers and 3 singing/message cards. They were precious and David and "Ty" left messages in them for me. They were the sweetest! I have the thoughtful est husband in the world. I'm so blessed. He also got me some perfume, and a hand held video camera. It was a great Mother's day but set the bar high for himself!! J/K After church we headed to grandma and grandpa's for lunch. The guys grilled and the ladies made yummy stuff inside. We definitely had a smorgasbord of food, but it was all delicious!!! Then after a couple hours of chatting we had to hit the road. ;( David drove and it only took us 6 1/2 hours. It was a good trip and Ty did really good. I feel horrible now looking back on it cause we only stopped once just long enough to run into Subway and grab a sandwich. So I'm sure Ty was stiff as a board in that car seat! Bless his heart! Got home, bath time and off to bed. It was a good trip but way too short, as always!
I wanted to tell all the wonderful "mothers" in my life Happy Mother's Day! To my mom, mom-in-law, grandmothers, sister, friends, .... that are all moms, I love you and appreciate you so very much! Thank you for all you have and continue to do for me and my family! Words cannot express how thankful I am for you and the example you show to me on how to be a wonderful mother. I'm pretty positive I have the best "moms" in the world in my life, in all aspects, that show me the true meaning of the word mom. I love you all and am so very grateful for all the many sacrifices that you made for me! If I'm half of a mom as you are then Ty will be very lucky!!! I love you all and miss you so very much!!! Thinking about my Grandma Todd always and especially today, Love you Grandma!!

8 Months...

Today is Tyler's 8th month birthday!! I can't believe he is already 8 months old. Everyday he seems to change and is really getting a personality. We are constanly amazed by how much he changes day to day. Wednesday, May 6th he started crawling. He really can get to anything he wants and constantly wants to be "on the go." He does a kind of a funny crawl, he gets up on his hands and knees, but when he moves, he trys to put his right foot on the ground and basically pushes and doesn't really want his right knee on the ground. He pulls up on everything and really would much rather walk than anything. He loves for you to hold his hands and let him walk. I'm afraid we are in for it, but that's ok. These pictures are just a few of the things we have been doing lately. Tyler doesn't quite like his sunglasses on, he rips them off instantly, but I did manage to get a few shots before he learned how to take them off.
I also made him a "oatmeal" box. I read this somewhere and thought it would be fun. It's good for his skin, easy to clean up, fairly cheap, and it probably even tastes good! ;) He wasn't really sure about it at first but then when he figured out what it was all about he enjoyed it and especially throwing it out of the box. ;)
There is also a few pics where we put gel in his hair and it's absolutely crazy! He definitely has lots of curl! It's so cute!
He's growing up so quickly and everyday we fall more and more in love with him!!!

Ty's first concert...

Last Saturday night we went to Tyler's first concert. David bought Bill Gaither's Vocal Band tickets about 2 months ago for "his" Valentines Day Present. Notice I said his. He originally played it off like it was mine, but really that is not so much my thing, but he loves it, so I was going to go with him. Well, it kind of snuck up on us and we didn't realize till late that we hadn't arranged anything for Tyler, so he came with us. It was at the coliseum in Greensboro and we had great seats. It was extremely loud, but didn't seem to bother Ty. The first part he was just sitting in our laps taking it all in. Most of the crowd was over 55 and they all had little blue lights that they flashed when they liked the song or whatever so Tyler enjoyed watching that. Most of the singers were definitely amazing, but there again, not so much my thing. David absolutely loved it and could have stayed 5 more hours I think. ;) Tyler finally drifted off to sleep about half way through and slept till pretty much till the end, how in the world he slept with all that noise I have NO idea!!
The concert was from 6:30 till around 9:30 or 10. We left right at the end and headed home. So it was a fun family time and we were glad that David got to be there to enjoy it! ;)

Grandma and Grandpa....

This past week Grandma came to visit. Darla, who normally keeps Tyler was going out of town to visit her family, so grandma came to the rescue. She got here Monday night. We all went out to dinner then home to watch "Dancing with the Stars." Then the rest of the week, they just played and had the best time. Tyler had been kind of fussy so I decided we needed to go to the doctor just in case. We know he's in the teething stage, but he had a horrible runny nose, and I was just worried he had an ear infection. So Wednesday we took him to the doctor and sure enough, his first ear infection! ;( It was in his left ear and there was fluid behind his right ear, but not infected yet. So 10 days of antibiotic hopefully will knock it out! These pics are of the dr. Even with the teething pain and ear ache he was still a happy little boy for the doctor, although we are both looking a little rough. ;)
Thursday morning Mike flew in to Greensboro to spend the day and then drive back with "grandma" on Friday morning. David and Mike worked ALL day transforming the laundry closet to stackable (NEW washer and dryer) and 1/2 into a pantry. I LOVE it!! I still haven't got it all organized yet, but soon, very soon.
We so enjoyed them being here and will surely miss them!! Thank yall so much for everything!!! We love and miss you already!
