Labor Day Weekend...

First of all, it's September 9, 2009!! 9/9/09, just thought that was cool. Anyway.
This past weekend was Labor Day weekend!! I LOVE holidays!! Friday afternoon we started off our weekend by going to the Lake with some of our best friends Brian and Shanna and baby Addison. It was a lot of fun. It was both Tyler and Addison's first time on a boat, they both have done it before but they were in our bellies! So we were excited to see how they would do. Addison slept the ENTIRE time! From the moment we stepped on the boat, through dinner, and then another ride he slept, it was crazy. Tyler on the other hand... He enjoyed it oh so much but he and the life jacket weren't the best of friends. I will admit I wouldn't want to wear one of those things 24/7, but he's under 13, so he has to. He really did good, but you could tell he did not want that thing on. I didn't get any picture because I left my camera in the car, but Shanna got some so as soon as I get them, I'll post them. Then we left around 9:30 and headed to Charleston, SC actually Seabrook Island. Some of our other best friends have a house there so we finally had an open weekend so we went. We finally got there around 2:30 am. It really wasn't a bad drive, Tyler did pretty good, but once we got there he was ready to play, so we didn't get to bed till about 4:30 a.m. Thankfully the Trinh's stayed with Jeff's parents that night or we would have waken up the whole house!! Saturday we (Tyler and I) got up and went for a walk around the block. It was gorgeous out and we took the car that Grandma and Grandpa had given him as an early bday gift. He loves it and had a blast trailing the neighborhood. The Trinh's arrived around lunch and we all headed to the pool. It was so relaxing and Tyler had a blast. We put him in this body suit thing because they had a 0 entry pool so he kept "running" down the ramp and I was so afraid he was going to bust it, so we put him in the body suit to catch him just in case. Although we were at his side 24/7. They played and played. We went in around 4, Ty took a short nap and then we headed to Gilligan's for dinner. It was so delicious!! Back home to relax. Sunday morning we got up and had our own church service on the screened-in porch. Afterwards, we headed back to the pool/beach. Stayed out there till about 5:00. We had incredible weather the entire time we were there. It was so pretty I could have stayed outside ALL day! Jeff and David tried to fly the kite, but they couldn't get it to stay up in the air for long even though the wind was fierce. We cooked dinner that night and got the kids in bed. We just relaxed on the porch the rest of the night. Monday we got up and went down to the beach to take pictures. The sun was so bright because we didn't get down there till around 11 so most of the family pictures David has a hilarious look on his face, hence the outtakes. ;) After that we went back to the pool and stayed till around 4, then went back, packed up and headed out around 4:30. We had a great trip back and got home around 9:30. We were so glad that we went and grateful that the Trinh's took us with them. Thanks guys it was awesome!! Great friends, great weather, great food what could be better??

The Gernand Family

Oh my goodness...I can't believe Tyler is ONE! Our boys are growing up so fast! He is so cute! I've been thinking about getting Jack a little car like that...is he strapped in? Or does he stay in of his own volition?

You pictures from the beach are gorgeous, you have such a beautiful family!

I did finally see your post about the pants, and they are from www.sloomb.com. They are $$ because they are 100% wool and used as diaper covers. They are GREAT sleeping pants because if your disposeables ever leak, you will still have DRY sheets! We actually use disposeables at night but put wool pants over them because they often leak for us. :)

it would be better if we could quit our jobs and be independently wealthy beach bums for the rest of our lives! But hey, a weekend away with great friends is definitely awesome! :)
